Sports City Stadium prepares to host the displaced Preparations began at Beirut’s Sports City Stadium to receive displaced people, after Social Affairs Minister Haneen Sayed announced on Thursday the opening of Camille Chamoun Sports City Stadium as a shelter. Banin Charity Association was tasked with managing the shelter at the Sports City by the Lebanese prime minister, the Beirut governor and the Higher Relief Committee. The association said the center would be ready within 48 hours, after which displaced families would be admitted in phases. It asked displaced people to call the hotlines 01-987001, 01-987002, and 71-028975 to register. Sayed had also announced the opening of all public schools and the Lebanese University, in addition to the Charles Helou station, the Olympic pool in Sbaiyeh, and the Sports City Stadium, as shelters for the displaced.
