Lebanon and Syria sign agreement to transfer convicted Syrian prisoners The governments of Lebanon and Syria signed an agreement on Friday to transfer more than 300 convicted Syrian nationals from Lebanese prisons to those in Syria. The agreement does not exclude any crime or any Syrian prisoner convicted in Lebanon, provided that those serving lengthy sentences already spent at least 10 years in prison in Lebanon. The transfer will be implemented starting Saturday morning, while the fate of Syrian detainees without final sentences remains pending until a separate agreement is reached.
