Israeli forces conducted a landing operation in Nabi Sheet in the Bekaa at midnight on Friday, using helicopters and commandos who moved toward the town cemetery in search of the remains of Israeli pilot #RonArad. Arad was captured after his plane crashed in Saida in 1986, and he disappeared in 1988. Since then, Israel has continued to search for Arad, carrying out intelligence operations and abductions in an attempt to determine what happened to him. At dawn today, they attempted to recover his remains again before clashing with Hezbollah. Israeli warplanes launched around 40 airstrikes to secure the infiltrating force’s withdrawal. The clashes and airstrikes killed 26 people, including three Lebanese army soldiers and one General Security officer, as well as 15 residents of Nabi Sheet, nine from Khreibeh, one from Saraain, and another from Ali al-Nahri.
